Incheon Guwol 2 Public Housing District Compensation Procedure Initiated... October District Plan Approval Application

Construction to Start in 2027... Housing Supply of 16,000 Units on 2.2㎢ Site

Incheon Urban Corporation (iH) is set to accelerate the development project of the Guwol 2 Public Housing District, which is being promoted in accordance with the government's housing supply policy.

iH announced on the 7th that it will hold a 'Guwol 2 District Compensation Briefing' at 3 p.m. on the 27th at the Namdong-gu Office auditorium. The compensation briefing is an opportunity to explain the compensation procedures and plans to residents ahead of the basic investigation of compensation properties scheduled for next month. After completing the basic investigation of compensation properties in the second half of next year, iH plans to proceed with appraisal and start compensation in 2026.

The district plan, which is being established after receiving designation as a public housing district from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last October, is scheduled to be submitted for approval to the Ministry around October. Following this, the district plan approval is expected in the first half of 2026, with land development construction beginning in the first half of 2027. Completion is targeted for the second half of 2029.

The Guwol 2 Public Housing District will be developed on a 2.2 km² site covering Namdong-gu’s Guwol, Namchon, and Susan-dong, Yeonsu-gu’s Seonhak-dong, and Michuhol-gu’s Gwankyo and Munhak-dong areas, supplying a total of 16,000 housing units.

iH plans to develop the Guwol 2 District as a new representative new town of Incheon, following Songdo, Yeongjong, Cheongna, and Geomdan. To this end, the district plan is being established to preserve regional identity, strengthen self-sufficient functions centered on new industries, and enhance connectivity with surrounding areas.

iH intends to provide a pleasant residential environment through a balanced layout of residential areas, commercial zones, and parks that reflect the topographical and geomantic characteristics. The location of Guwol 2 District is a typical baesanimsu (mountain at the back, water in front) terrain, with Seunggi Stream flowing in front of Munhak Mountain, featuring a harmonious combination of mountains and water with a high east and low west topography.

Jo Dong-am, President of iH, said, "Guwol 2 District, which has long been known as a prime location with good living energy, will become more than just a housing supply area; we will do our best to establish it as a new center of Incheon."
