109 Kindergarten and Elementary Teachers, 75 Secondary Teachers to Be Selected
Final List to Be Announced on September 11 and October 2, Respectively
Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsu) announced in advance the planned subjects, number of positions, and exam schedule for the 2025 public kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school teacher recruitment exam on the education office's website at 10 a.m. on the 7th.
The total number of positions planned for recruitment this year is 184. For kindergarten and elementary school teachers, there are 109 positions: 4 for kindergarten teachers, 102 for elementary school teachers, and 3 for special school (elementary) teachers.
For secondary school teachers, there are 75 positions: 62 in 17 subjects, 9 in special subjects (health, librarian, professional counseling, nutrition), and 4 in special (secondary) subjects. This is an increase of 10 positions compared to last year's preliminary announcement (21 subjects, 65 positions).
The Ulsan Office of Education explained that the number of positions was calculated to be as close as possible to the final recruitment scale for the 2025 academic year, but the actual number may differ from the announcement due to teacher quota adjustments and additional supply reasons.
The number of positions announced this time is an approximate figure calculated by the education office, mainly based on the Ministry of Education's preliminary quota allocation, and reflecting retirements, promotions, and transfers.
Ulsan Office of Education will continue to operate the total quota system for disabled recruitment, expanding recruitment across all secondary (general and specialized) subjects to achieve the mandatory employment rate for persons with disabilities this year as well. At least 7.6% of the planned positions will be allocated for this purpose.
The first written exam for kindergarten and elementary school teacher recruitment will be held on November 9, and the second written exam for those who pass the first round will take place over three days from January 8 to 10 next year. The final number of successful candidates will be announced on September 11.
For the secondary school teacher recruitment exam, the final subjects, number of positions, detailed schedule, and consignment status by foundation will be announced on the Ulsan Office of Education website on October 2, and the first written exam will be held on November 23.
In particular, for the 2025 academic year, the recruitment of new private school teachers will be conducted in the same manner as the public school teacher recruitment exam, with the first written exam entrusted by the respective foundations. As the schedule and method of consignment vary by foundation, applicants for private schools must check the foundation's website for details.
