Park Chandae urges Yoon, "Let's hold a summit... We must overcome the economic crisis"

"Let's also establish a permanent government-parliament policy consultation body"
"Power incapable of solving people's livelihood issues will be judged"

Park Chan-dae, Acting Leader and Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "An emergency summit meeting must be held promptly to address the economic emergency situation and to discuss bipartisan crisis resolution."

At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 7th, Acting Leader Park said, "The economic crisis is difficult to overcome by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration alone." He added, "It is urgent to share awareness of the situation through top-down discussions and to seek countermeasures with a sense of urgency," and emphasized, "Before the livelihood economy reaches an irreversible stage, the political sphere must unite to solve the problem." The Supreme Council meeting was held under the name of the 'Emergency Economic Inspection Meeting' to assess the economic situation.

He proposed, "Along with the summit meeting, a permanent policy consultation body between the government and the National Assembly should be established." He continued, "Many government measures require legislative action," and said, "To expedite this, a body involving the government, ruling party, and opposition parties must be established promptly." He also stressed, "Power that is indifferent to the lives of the people and incompetent in solving livelihood issues has no reason to exist," and added, "I hope the historical lesson that such power will inevitably be judged is deeply engraved."

Kim Tae-nyeon (5-term, Seongnam-si Sujeong-gu, Gyeonggi Province) also attended the meeting and called for the activation of an 'Emergency Economic Consultative Body' involving the government, ruling party, and opposition parties. He emphasized, "The Korean stock index, which had staggered due to the largest-ever plunge, surged again yesterday," and said, "This is not a normal heartbeat." He further stated, "The Deputy Prime Minister for Economy says the market overreacted, but he is blaming the people again," and argued, "The Yoon administration's comprehensive economic failure has further spread the damage." Kim serves as the Chair of the Livelihood Economy Crisis Countermeasures Committee within the party.
