Busan City, together with the Korea Tourism Organization (acting president Seo Youngchung) and the Busan Tourism Organization (president Lee Jeongsil), will once again host the "2024 Byeolbada Busan Night Music Campnic" at Dadaepo Beach Park this year, following last year's successful event.
This event, which was first introduced last year as a healing music concert set against the sunset of Dadaepo, received much love as a nighttime tourism program.
Building on last year's enthusiastic response, this year's program has been further enhanced. Starting from the 9th, for three weeks, every Friday and Saturday, Dadaepo Beach Park will offer a romantic midsummer night picnic blended with music.
This year's event will take place a total of six times on August 9-10, 16-17, and 23-24. Each week will feature a variety of musicians performing in genres such as crossover, indie music, and emotional vocals.
On the first week (August 9-10), audiences can enjoy crossover performances combining fusion classical, jazz, and musicals. The second week (August 16-17) will feature acoustic and city pop performances by Busan indie bands. The third week (August 23-24) will present cover performances of popular songs by sweet-voiced vocalists.
Crossover refers to a music genre created by combining elements from different, sometimes contrasting, genres. Acoustic music is played with instruments like piano or drum sets without electronic devices. City pop is a music style that gained popularity in the 1970s and 80s, characterized by an urban vibe and a blend of pop, smooth jazz, funk, and soul elements.
At the No. 1 Lawn Plaza of Dadaepo Beach Park, the "Summer Travel Show" will be held simultaneously, where visitors can purchase products made by resident companies of the Buleugyeong Tourism Business Support Center and Tourism Dure community businesses, as well as enjoy various hands-on experiences, making the midsummer night even more enjoyable.
Detailed schedules and participation information for the program can be found on the Visit Busan tourism portal or the city's dedicated nighttime tourism channel.
Park Geunrok, Director of Tourism MICE at the city, said, "Thanks to last year's enthusiastic response, this year's 'Byeolbada Busan Night Campnic' has been prepared to be even more diverse and substantial. We will do our best to ensure that domestic and international tourists visiting Busan can create special memories through Busan's beautiful nightscape and various contents."
