Kakao Mobility Launches Open Beta for Real-Time Community 'Jigeumyeogi'

Kakao Mobility announced on the 7th that it will launch 'Jigeumyeogi,' a real-time community service based on regions and locations, within the Kakao T application. The service will begin an open beta in select areas, with plans to officially launch after assessing user accessibility.

Jigeumyeogi is a service where users can share information about specific regions and locations, as well as post reactions such as comments and likes. Through sharing users' information and experiences, it is expected to provide various linked information about travel processes and destinations.

In particular, beyond the information available from existing portals or map apps, it is anticipated to become a space where users can share on-site information provided by people who are heading to or currently at the destination, including real-time destination conditions.

Kakao T users can freely share information about places and continue conversations without any separate registration process. For example, a user traveling to Everland by taxi can enter the Jigeumyeogi service from the travel screen and chat with people who are currently at Everland or are going there.

Users can easily access the Jigeumyeogi service from various screens within the Kakao T app, such as the home tab, usage/notification tab, integrated search, my information, and taxi boarding screen. Additionally, information about regions and locations can be checked according to four categories: ▲Jigeumyeogi ▲Tips ▲Restaurants ▲Accidents & Traffic.

Kakao Mobility has been recruiting supporters since the 24th of last month to stabilize the Jigeumyeogi service and is conducting a pilot operation. The beta service has been opened in some areas of Gangnam-Jamsil, Hongdae-Shinchon-Sangam, Yeouido, Everland, Seoul Land, and Pangyo regions.

In the future, various user participation promotions will be conducted focusing on amusement parks, complex shopping malls, and major festival areas or locations with high foot traffic and continuous events.
