Sponsorship to Korea National University of Cultural Heritage
Total Support of 150 Million Won Planned Over 5 Years
Starbucks Korea announced on the 7th that it has donated a scholarship fund of 30 million KRW to Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, to support the training of experts in traditional culture and national heritage.
Korea National University of Cultural Heritage is a special-purpose university established by the Cultural Heritage Administration in 2000 to cultivate professionals for the creative succession and development of traditional culture and the preservation, management, and utilization of national heritage.

Earlier, Starbucks signed a business agreement on the 11th of last month with the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Cultural Heritage National Trust to protect national heritage. Accordingly, Starbucks plans to provide a total of 150 million KRW in scholarships over the next five years, with 30 million KRW annually to Korea National University of Cultural Heritage. Each year, about 10 students will be selected to receive scholarships. The scholarship fund is raised by accumulating 300 KRW from the sale of every item at Starbucks’ differentiated social contribution model, Community Store No. 9 (Hwangudan Branch).
Kim Ji-young, head of Starbucks ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) team, said, "We will stand as a strong supporter of the future leaders who will take the lead in protecting our precious national heritage," adding, "We will plan various activities so that Starbucks partners can take more interest in and feel pride about national heritage."
