Special Lecture on "Smart Student Life" Designing Cities Using Future Technologies on the 10th
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 9th and 10th, special summer vacation self-directed learning lectures such as "Exploring Careers on the International Stage" and "Smart Vacation Life" will be held for middle school students in grades 1 to 3.
This program was prepared to help students living in the era of globalization explore various careers toward the international stage and to increase their understanding of the 4th Industrial Revolution in preparation for the future society.
The "Exploring Careers on the International Stage" lecture will be held on the 9th from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Geumcheon Career and Academic Support Center, presenting ways to advance to the international stage and related occupations.
In Part 1, an overview of the definition of the international stage and methods to advance will be presented, and in Part 2, international activities that middle school students can participate in and how to become diplomats or international organization officials will be introduced.
The "Smart Vacation Life" program will take place on the 10th from 1 PM to 5:30 PM at the 12th-floor auditorium of Geumcheon-gu Office, where participants will experience future technologies.
Through the special lecture "Smart Geumcheon City, Smart Mobility," explanations about changes in future technologies to consider when planning careers and the future society will be given, followed by group activities.
In the group activities, participants will compose urban transportation means (mobility), which have recently gained attention, and design them using coding. Then, according to team assignments, they will implement one-person electric vehicles (smart mobility) and have discussions about the appearance and development direction of future Geumcheon city.
Applications for the program can be made on the Geumcheon Career and Academic Support Center website. Applications for the "Smart Vacation Life" lecture are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the 7th, and for the "Exploring Careers on the International Stage" lecture until the 8th.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "By operating distinctive career experience programs during the summer vacation, we aim to provide students with a good opportunity to develop self-directed learning skills and explore their careers," adding, "We plan to continue offering various programs so that young people can find careers suitable for themselves."
