Kim Hong-yeol (Hongten) to Compete for Breaking World No.1 Title on Olympic Stage... Final Battle on the 10th

On August 10th, Korean time, Kim Hong-yeol (Hongten), a member of the Dobong-gu Office breaking team, will compete in the breaking event at the Paris Olympics. The breaking event will be held from the round of 16 to the finals all in one day.


Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that Kim Hong-yeol is the only Korean breaking athlete to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.


Kim Hong-yeol secured his spot in the Olympic main event by finishing second overall in the Olympic Qualifier Series (OQS) held in May and June.


A total of 16 athletes will compete in the men's breaking event at the Paris Olympics, with the final battle taking place at 11 PM on August 10th (Korean time).


Kim Hong-yeol, who belongs to Group C in the group stage, will compete against Jepro (USA), Lee (Netherlands), and Raze (France) for a place in the quarterfinals. From the quarterfinals onward, the top 1st and 2nd place finishers from each group will compete in a knockout tournament format.


Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "All Dobong-gu residents are united in cheering for Kim Hong-yeol. We hope he fully demonstrates his skills on the dream stage of the Olympics."
