The Maritime Police plan to focus on cracking down on △ theft of seafood and ship intrusion △ human rights violations such as assault and labor exploitation of maritime workers △ illegal fishing activities such as using unregistered vessels and fishing gear △ advance payment fraud exploiting the difficulty of recruiting crew members.

To effectively respond to livelihood infringement crimes, a crackdown team will be formed, and criminal patrol boats will be deployed in island maritime areas such as Sinan-gun and Jindo-gun to strengthen enforcement at sea.

A Mokpo Maritime Police official stated, “We will strongly respond by conducting surprise crackdowns during crime-vulnerable periods such as holidays to eradicate chronic and habitual crimes targeting ordinary citizens,” and urged, “If you experience or discover illegal activities, please report them immediately to the Maritime Police.”
