Chungcheong County, the Mecca of Badminton, Hosts National Youth Badminton Team Training Camp

As the South Korean national badminton team continues to perform well at the 2024 Paris Olympics, young athletes dreaming of becoming the next generation of stars are also training hard in Cheongsong, known as the mecca of badminton.

Cheongsong County, the sacred place of badminton, hosted the training camp for the U-15 youth badminton national team.

This training camp in Cheongsong is being held from August 1 to 18, with about 40 members of the U-15 national youth badminton team participating, in preparation for the upcoming Junior Championship in September.

Cheongsong County, with its excellent badminton facilities, fresh air, and vast natural surroundings, is recognized as a popular training destination for domestic school and corporate teams, allowing for both physical and mental training. Many teams visit annually for training camps, bringing significant vitality to the local economy, including tourism, accommodation, and food services.

County Governor Yoon Kyunghee said, "I sincerely welcome all athletes and coaches who have come to Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong County to devote themselves to training despite the hot weather. I hope this training camp will help the athletes improve their skills and bear the fruits of their efforts in the upcoming competitions."
