Formation and Operation of Mobile Units, Emergency Removal of Hazardous Advertisements in Emergencies
Focused Maintenance of Ownerless Hazardous Signs and Illegal Mobile Advertisements
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will undertake a large-scale outdoor advertising safety management campaign from August to September.
This is to prevent safety accidents among residents during this period, which is prone to heavy rain and typhoons.
Earlier, the district established the '2024 Flood and Wind Disaster Preparedness Outdoor Advertising Safety Management Enhancement Plan' and began inspecting outdoor advertisements in the area starting from the 1st of this month.
The district first organized a disaster response task force. The task force, composed of five teams, will maintain an emergency duty system and urgently remove hazardous advertisements in case of emergencies.
For ownerless dangerous signs, the district will request voluntary maintenance and removal from building owners and managers, and if not complied with or in urgent situations, will obtain consent for removal and proceed with dismantling.
Additionally, patrols will be intensified against illegal mobile outdoor advertisements to eliminate safety hazards for residents.
Efforts will also be made to promote outdoor advertising management measures. Promotional materials containing outdoor advertising safety management information will be produced and distributed. These materials explain the measures to be taken in three stages: ▲Prevention stage ▲Preparation stage ▲Response and recovery stage.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “Based on a close cooperative system with related organizations such as the Dobong-gu branch of the Seoul Outdoor Advertising Association during this summer, we will do our best to prevent safety accidents caused by outdoor advertisements,” and added, “We also ask residents to be cautious of surrounding hazards and to report immediately if any abnormal signs are found.”
