Military Personnel Management Also by AI... Conan Technology Conducts Research on Ministry of National Defense LLM Application

Conan Technology, an artificial intelligence (AI) software (SW) specialist company, announced on the 5th that it will conduct a study on the "Application Plan of Large Language Models (LLM) in Military Personnel Affairs" for the Ministry of National Defense in collaboration with the consulting firm Cyber & Network Research Institute.

Konan Technology participates in the Ministry of National Defense's research on applying LLM in military personnel management.

Conan Technology signed a contract in December 2022 for the Ministry of National Defense's "Smart Talent Management System" construction project. This project aims to build a smart talent management system integrating AI and big data technologies in the military personnel field by 2025. This study is also related to that contract and will explore ways to apply generative language models to military personnel affairs. The lead organization is the Army Personnel Command, and Conan Technology will conduct the research in cooperation with the Cyber & Network Research Institute.

Military personnel affairs involve important tasks in various areas including ▲policy establishment (personnel planning, personnel systems, work welfare policies) ▲talent selection (officer, non-commissioned officer, and civilian recruitment and interviews/evaluations) ▲talent management (assigning initial military occupational specialties and positions after enlistment and managing positions) ▲education selection (selecting candidates for military education and performance management) ▲promotion management (digital promotion management using personnel databases (DB) and various verification materials) ▲discharge support (conducting all tasks related to job transition education, consulting, and employment/startup support) ▲veteran support (managing veterans and supporting reserve soldiers) ▲record management, among other areas.

The goal of this study is to apply generative language models to various military personnel tasks to support rapid decision-making and maximize work efficiency. The core tasks Conan Technology will research include ▲utilization and support plans for LLM in personnel policy establishment ▲utilization and application plans of LLM in the Army Personnel Command's operations ▲utilization plans of LLM in record management and other personnel affairs.
