Banguchon Prehistoric Site Theme, First 100 Elementary Students on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
A competition to draw the Bangucheon Petroglyphs, which preserve prehistoric relics, will be held.
The Ulsan Museum of Art announced on the 5th that it will hold a drawing competition under the theme of "New Bangucheon" at the museum's education room on the 22nd.
This competition is a related event to the exhibition "From Bangucheon to Urban Art," which was planned in hopes of the Bangucheon Petroglyphs being registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The competition is open to elementary school students, and 100 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from August 12 to 14.
It will be divided into lower and upper grades of elementary school. Participants are free to draw their own imagined "New Bangucheon" on the provided canvas.
Each person may submit only one application, and the application form should indicate whether the student is in the lower or upper grades before submitting it via email.
Participation is free, but participants must prepare their own mini mats, crayons, colored pencils, and pencils.
On the day of the competition, August 22, lower-grade students must register at the museum lobby by 9:20 a.m., and upper-grade students by 2:20 p.m.
After viewing the exhibition and listening to the competition instructions, participants will draw for about three hours in the education room. The results will be announced on the museum's website in early September.
Fifty winners will be selected, including the Grand Prize (Mayor's Award) and the Excellence Prize (Museum Director's Award), and certificates will be delivered to the winners' schools.

A museum official said, "Through this competition, we hope to break down the barriers that make the museum feel distant from everyday life and create an opportunity to make the museum more approachable for children and citizens."
