[Polpol News] "Recovery Trend: President Yoon's Approval Rating Drops 1.9%p to 32.8% After 4 Weeks"

President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating has fallen for the first time in four weeks, dropping back to the low 30% range.


According to a poll released on the 5th by Realmeter (conducted on behalf of Energy Economy Newspaper from the 29th of last month to the 2nd of this month, targeting 2,510 voters aged 18 and over, with 97% mobile and 3% landline using an automated response system), President Yoon's approval rating for his administration stood at 32.8%, down 1.9 percentage points from the previous week's survey. Negative evaluations rose by 1.4 percentage points to 63.2%.


President Yoon's approval rating had shown an upward trend for three consecutive weeks, reaching 34.7% in the mid-30% range last week, but it has now declined. Looking at the regions, approval in Seoul dropped by 5.8 percentage points from 36.3% to 30.5%. By age group, approval among those in their 50s fell by 8.3 percentage points from 34.0% to 25.7%. Support among conservatives also decreased by 3.5 percentage points from 59.1% to 55.6%.

In the party support survey (conducted on behalf of Energy Economy Newspaper from the 1st to the 2nd, targeting 1,002 voters aged 18 and over, with 97% mobile and 3% landline using an automated response system), the People Power Party's support rose by 0.1 percentage points to 38.5%, the Democratic Party of Korea increased by 0.2 percentage points to 36.3%, and the Justice Party rose by 0.2 percentage points to 9.4%. The gap in support between the People Power Party and the Democratic Party is 2.2 percentage points, within the margin of error.
