On the 4th, at the competition held at Les Invalides in Paris, France, Kim Woo-jin defeated Brazil's Marcus Dalmeida 7-1 (29-29 30-27 30-29 30-28) in the men's individual round of 16. Lee Woo-seok beat China's Wang Yan 6-2 (30-29 29-29 30-28 30-30). Kim Je-deok won against Colombia's Santiago Arcila 6-4 (27-30 25-27 28-27 28-27 28-27).


Kim Woo-jin and Lee Woo-seok will face each other if they advance to the semifinals. Kim Je-deok could meet a Korean athlete if he reaches the final. Kim Woo-jin will compete against Mete Gazoz (Turkey), the 2021 Tokyo Games champion, in the quarterfinals. Previously, Kim Woo-jin secured gold medals in the men's team and mixed team events. If he wins the men's individual event as well, he will become the third archer to achieve a triple Olympic archery crown following An San from the Tokyo Games and Lim Si-hyun from this competition.


Lee Woo-seok will face Italy's Mauro Nespoli in the quarterfinals. Having won gold in the men's team event, Lee Woo-seok is aiming for his second gold medal. Kim Je-deok will compete against veteran Brady Ellison from the United States in the quarterfinals. Ellison has participated in five consecutive Olympic Games since Beijing, winning a total of four medals. The Korean archery team, which swept gold medals in the men's and women's team events, mixed team, and women's individual event at this competition, is aiming to make history by winning five gold medals in total.
