“A Special Lecture on ‘The Life You Have Lived Is the Greatest Gratitude and Miracle’”
On June 2, the city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province held the "Finding Happiness and Gratitude Storytelling" event at the Gumi Senior Welfare Center and the Seonsan Senior Welfare Center for over 400 local seniors, aiming to promote mental health in later life and help overcome loneliness.
At the event, broadcaster Giwoong Ajjae, who serves as a dementia ambassador for North Gyeongsang Province, delivered a special lecture on the theme, "The life you have lived is the greatest gratitude and miracle."
Various promotional booths were also operated, offering mental health checkups for seniors, hand massages, blood pressure and diabetes testing, and dementia screenings, providing opportunities for seniors to communicate and alleviate emotional isolation.
Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "We will continue to work to alleviate seniors' loneliness and to detect mental health issues at an early stage."
