Samsung SDI has launched efforts to secure top-tier global talent with master's and doctoral degrees in the North American region.

On the 3rd (local time), Samsung SDI announced that it held its first 'Tech & Career Forum' of the year at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge Hotel in Boston, USA.

The Tech & Career Forum is an event where key executives personally invite master's and doctoral-level talents to recruit outstanding personnel. Boston, where the event was held, is home to SDIRA (SDI R&D America), Samsung SDI's first research institute in the United States. This institute is actively conducting research and development on battery innovation technologies and next-generation batteries.

The forum was attended by key Samsung SDI executives including President and CEO Yoonho Choi, Vice President and Head of the Research Institute Yoonchang Kim, and Vice President and Head of the People Team Jaewoo Ahn, along with about 90 personnel from major universities and research institutes in North America.

The event consisted of a 'Vision Talk' dialogue program between President Choi and the attendees, a keynote speech by the head of the research institute, and tech sessions by executives from each business division.

In the Vision Talk with attendees, President Yoonho Choi urged participants to join in realizing Samsung SDI's vision of "achieving a sustainable and eco-friendly future society through super-gap technological capabilities."

The tech sessions covered all business divisions of the company under the themes of change and the future, including medium-to-large batteries, small batteries, electronic materials, and next-generation technologies at the research institute. Executives with doctoral degrees from each division presented the latest technology trends and Samsung SDI's future technologies. Attendees selected topics of interest to listen to and engaged in active Q&A sessions with the presenters.

A separate exhibition space was set up at the entrance of the venue to display key products such as all-solid-state batteries, allowing forum participants to easily understand the company's technologies.

Samsung SDI plans to hold 'Tech & Career Forums' in Korea in August and Europe in October this year to make every effort to secure outstanding talent.

Samsung SDI President Yoonho Choi said, "The most important and necessary investment to secure 'super-gap technological competitiveness' is investment in talent," adding, "Let's create the future of Samsung SDI together toward becoming a 'global top-tier company by 2030.'"
