Although Nam Su-hyun lost to Lim Si-hyun, she showed strong performance and took home the silver medal.
Lim Si-hyun swept the team, mixed team, and individual events, becoming a triple champion at the tournament. Previously, Korean athletes Osang Wook in fencing and Kim Woo-jin in archery had won two golds each, but Lim Si-hyun is the first to achieve three golds. Lim scored 9 points, giving Nam an opportunity, and Nam secured the fourth set with a perfect 10. Lim's final arrow was a 10, but she was edged out by Nam's perfect shots. In the decisive fifth set, Nam showed signs of faltering with an 8-point shot. Lim then scored a perfect 10. Nam regained her composure and shot a 10. Lim scored 8 points, but Nam also shot an 8, giving Lim another chance. Lim finished with a perfect 10 to close out the match.
Ultimately, Lim Si-hyun won the gold medal with a 7-3 victory, while Nam Su-hyun took the silver medal.
