First Olympic Men's 4x100m Medley Relay Appearance in 28 Years
Regrettable Elimination in Heats
The South Korean swimming team, competing in the men's 4x100m medley relay at the Olympics for the first time in 28 years, failed to advance to the finals.
On the 3rd (Korean time), the South Korean swimming team finished 13th out of 16 countries with a time of 3:34.68 in the men's 4x100m medley relay heats at the 2024 Paris Olympic swimming competition held at the La D?fense swimming pool in Paris, France. The team consisted of backstroke swimmer Lee Ju-ho (Seogwipo City Hall), breaststroke swimmer Choi Dong-yeol (Gangwon Provincial Office), butterfly swimmer Kim Ji-hoon (Daejeon Metropolitan City Hall), and freestyle swimmer Hwang Sun-woo (Gangwon Provincial Office).

This marks the first time South Korea has participated in the men's 4x100m medley relay at the Olympics since the 1996 Atlanta Games, 28 years ago. With the men's medley relay team eliminated in the heats, South Korea's swimming schedule at this competition has come to an end.
Leon Marchand, who won four individual gold medals, swam the breaststroke leg in heat 2 and led France to first place in the heats with a time of 3:31.36. Marchand will challenge for his fifth gold medal in the men's 4x100m medley relay final, scheduled for 4:58 a.m. on the 4th.
China, with Pan Zhanle?who set a new world record in the men's 100m freestyle (46.40 seconds) at this competition?swimming the final freestyle leg, qualified for the final in second place overall with a time of 3:31.58.
