At 2 p.m. on the 2nd, the 'Able School Job Fair' was held at the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul. At each booth set up by 25 companies, job seekers were waiting to hear employment know-how from current professionals. When it was their turn, questions from job seekers such as "Which certifications would give extra points?" and "Would project experience help in getting a job?" were exchanged with answers from the professionals.

The job seekers gathered at the job fair were KT Able School 5th cohort trainees. KT is conducting an educational program to contribute to nurturing corporate practical AI (Artificial Intelligence) and digital transformation (DX) talents and creating jobs. The program is conducted over six months in a hybrid format of non-face-to-face (theory and practice) and face-to-face (projects), based on six major regional headquarters. Graduates who apply for KT recruitment are exempted from the document screening stage for the first application only. Currently, the 5th cohort trainees are about to graduate, and the 6th cohort training is scheduled to start next month. Seok Ju-yeon, KT Able School manager, said, "As AI models become more advanced, we are making improvements with each cohort, including running a coding master program in parallel."

Companies' responses to the Able School Job Fair are positive because it provides an opportunity to meet talents who have developed practical skills through Able School. Tmax Group, which participated in the job fair with 10 affiliates, also established a recruitment process through Able School. Moon So-yeon, Tmax recruitment manager met on-site, said, "Last time, we received triple-digit applications and hired a single-digit number, and the feedback inside the company after their hiring was very good," adding, "This time, the number of hires is expected to increase to double digits." According to KT, the employment rate of KT Group among all graduates is over 20%, and half of them have secured regular positions in large corporations.

This is because trainees were able to develop practical skills through projects. Jeong Seong-wook (27, Changwon University, Department of Mechanical Engineering), a 5th cohort trainee, said, "In a project related to the Busan urban forest creation project, we used data on environment, climate, and land to assess suitability and visualized the post-creation appearance using generative AI." Jeong added, "In the region, there were few opportunities to take AI classes other than Able School." Lee Gawon said, "We worked on a smart shared umbrella project and derived the best installation locations through data analysis," adding, "The guidance from the current professional coach was very helpful in setting the direction."

Graduates said that the practical skills they improved at Able School helped them in actual employment. Lee Un-moon, a researcher at AI specialist company Diquest (3rd cohort graduate), said, "Just knowing AI was not enough to perform in practice," adding, "It was good to gain diverse experiences like a journalist while taking the training." Jang Su-rim, assistant manager of KT's Enterprise Division, said, "The current professional coach systematically teaches how to prepare presentations," adding, "It was sufficiently helpful during the job application process."

Meanwhile, KT Able School trainees have won the grand prize four times at the K-Digital Training Hackathon hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
