Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that it will provide educational activity expenses to help develop the academic and career capabilities of children from multicultural families.
The support targets children aged 7 to 18 from multicultural families residing in Bucheon City with a standard median income of 100% or less, and support is available even if they are not attending school. However, it cannot be provided concurrently with educational benefits.
The support amount is 400,000 KRW annually for elementary school students, 500,000 KRW for middle school students, and 600,000 KRW for high school students. If selected as a beneficiary, the amount will be paid as NH Nonghyup Card points. Applications submitted by the 16th will receive points in September, and those applying in September will receive points in October.
The points provided can be used until November 30 for purchasing educational materials, using study rooms, buying materials related to arts, physical education, and vocational training, as well as paying certification exam fees.
Those wishing to apply should visit the Bucheon Multicultural Family Support Center with their ID and required documents.
A Bucheon City official said, "This is a meaningful project to support children from multicultural families to grow into future talents," adding, "As this is a new project this year, we ask for interest so that eligible applicants do not miss the opportunity to apply and receive support."
