Hollywood star Tom Cruise will perform stunt acting at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He is expected to rappel down from the Stade de France stadium where the event is held and land on the field.

The TV broadcast team will play a pre-recorded video immediately. The footage shows Cruise flying a plane carrying the Olympic flag to the next Olympic host city, Los Angeles (LA). It is reported that he will skydive over the Hollywood Sign and deliver the flag to Olympic athletes around LA.

The stunt-style Olympic flag handover is said to have been directly proposed by Cruise to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It appears to be a plan to promote both his homeland’s Olympic hosting and the upcoming release of "Mission: Impossible 8" scheduled for next May.

Cruise recently stayed in Paris and watched events such as swimming and gymnastics. He enthusiastically cheered for the US team athletes, including Simone Biles. This is not his first Olympic involvement. Before the 2004 Athens Olympics, he participated as a torchbearer in LA. The LA Olympics he will promote will be held from July 14 to 30, 2028.
