Gangdong-gu, Seoul announced on the 2nd that the economic landscape of the district is accelerating its transformation as companies begin to move into Godeok Biz Valley, the largest commercial and business complex in the area.
On the 26th, Gangdong-gu revealed that IT security company Hunezion became the 14th tenant to move into Godeok Biz Valley. At the move-in ceremony, Lee Soo-hee, the mayor of Gangdong-gu, congratulated Hunezion on successfully completing construction and relocating to Gangdong-gu, and cheered on their new start in Godeok Biz Valley.
The company, headquartered in Gangnam-gu, is a security solution specialist that develops and supplies network-based information security software, including the nation's top procurement sales network segmentation solution. They newly constructed the Hunezion Tower in Godeok Biz Valley and relocated there.
By the end of last year, nine companies had moved into Godeok Biz Valley, and five more companies completed their move-in this year. Additionally, five more companies are preparing to move in. The ‘Godeok I-Park Dearban,’ which will include Seoul’s first IKEA shopping mall, as well as Emart, CGV, and office facilities, is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
Godeok I-Park Dearban is a large-scale retail complex offering shopping and cultural experiences with views of the Han River. Furthermore, JYP Entertainment’s new headquarters is planned to be built on Block 2 of the retail sales facility site, raising high expectations in Gangdong-gu for an increase in overseas visitors.
The district anticipates an economic effect totaling 9 trillion won and the creation of approximately 38,000 jobs through Godeok Biz Valley.
Mayor Lee Soo-hee stated, “Godeok Biz Valley will become a landmark of Gangdong and enhance the district’s brand value,” adding, “We will continue to seek various ways for Gangdong-gu and tenant companies to grow together and strive to improve the future value of Godeok Biz Valley.”
