Cheonan City to Provide Farmers and Fishermen Allowance via Cheonan Love Card

About 17,000 Farms Apply

Cheonan City to Provide Farmers and Fishermen Allowance via Cheonan Love Card Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, will provide the "2024 Farmer and Fisherman Allowance" through the Cheonan Sarang Card.

Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 1st that the "2024 Farmer and Fisherman Allowance" will be distributed through the Cheonan Sarang Card.

Previously, starting in February, the city accepted applications for the allowance at local administrative welfare centers, resulting in over 17,000 households applying.

Existing farmers can use the Cheonan Sarang Card immediately once it is recharged from the 1st, while new applicants should visit their local administrative welfare center with a valid ID for identity verification to receive their card.

Eligible recipients are citizens who have registered their agricultural business entity and have resided in the city since before January 1, 2023, with non-agricultural income less than 37 million won. Single-person households registered as agricultural business entities will receive 800,000 won, and households with two or more people will receive 450,000 won per individual farmer.

Notably, while the number of recipients per household was limited to five last year, this year the cap has been removed, allowing all household members to receive the allowance. The card can be used until December 31, 2025.

Mayor Park Sangdon stated, "The Farmer and Fisherman Allowance is a reward for farmers who strive to preserve the public value of agriculture despite difficult conditions such as abnormal weather. We hope it will boost farmers' pride and help enhance agricultural competitiveness."
