Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold a campaign to promote a safe delivery culture and distribute bottled water at four locations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 5th, 12th, and 19th.

This event was organized to prevent safety accidents and heat-related illnesses among delivery app workers in Geumcheon-gu who are exposed to the heat, following the Korea Meteorological Administration's forecast of continued heatwaves after the rainy season.

Four locations with a high number of mobile workers in each zone were selected. Events will be held in three locations by session, and the Gasan-dong Workers' Comprehensive Support Center will operate a permanent ice refrigerator.

The first session will take place near Hyundai Motor Geumcheon Branch at Siheung Intersection, the second session at Doksan Intersection, and the third session near the entrance of Doksan-dong U Market. Two hundred bottles of water will be distributed to delivery app workers at each session, along with promotions for safe delivery practices.

The campaign promotes wearing helmets, obeying traffic laws, keeping eyes on the road while driving, and maintaining a safe distance for a safe delivery culture.

The Workers' Comprehensive Support Center will operate a permanent ice refrigerator for three weeks from the 5th to the 23rd, allowing mobile workers to drink bottled water and rest anytime.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We appreciate the hard work of mobile workers working in the heat, and hope they can take some time to cool down during this event.” He added, “We will continue to strive to improve the safety and working conditions of mobile workers.”
