Expansion into a Location-Based Life Platform
Kakao announced on the 1st that it has revamped the 'Place Details' service of its location-based life platform, KakaoMap.
KakaoMap's 'Place Details' is a service that provides detailed information about a specific place. When users search for a place they need information about on KakaoMap or tap a place on the map screen, they can check more detailed information such as address, phone number, and user reviews.
This revamp focused on enhancing user convenience and usability. In the basic area that appears when a place is tapped, various information such as reservations, delivery, and business hours can now be viewed all at once. Additionally, the visibility of transportation-related place information content, such as parking lots, gas stations, train stations, and subway stations, has been improved.
Frequently used features by users have also been improved. Buttons containing essential information such as reservations, delivery, favorites, calls, and directions have been made easier to use, and place images have been enlarged to improve readability.
The store management feature, which provides convenience for store owners, has been updated. When using KakaoMap with an account linked to store management, users can easily add or modify store information, and various business functions such as reservations and Talk Channel can be conveniently connected.
This revamp is available by updating to KakaoMap app version 5.18.0 or higher.
Cho Sung-yoon, Kakao Local Map Leader, said, "We revamped the Place Details service so that KakaoMap users can find the place information they need in daily life more easily and quickly," adding, "We plan to continuously advance various services within KakaoMap to expand the role of the location-based life platform."
