Seoul City Council Elects Kim Gil-Young as Chair of Urban Planning and Balance Committee

Kim Gil-young, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council (People Power Party, Gangnam 6), was elected as the Chairperson of the Urban Planning Committee for the second half of the Seoul Metropolitan Council term. The Seoul Metropolitan Council recently held a special session and elected Kim Gil-young as the Chairperson of the 11th Urban Planning Committee for the latter half of the term.


Chairperson Kim represents the 6th electoral district of Gangnam-gu. He has served as a National Assembly aide, a member of the 6th Gangnam District Council, and spokesperson for the People Power Party Seoul Metropolitan City Party. During the first half of the 11th term, he was active as the senior deputy floor leader of the People Power Party in the Seoul Metropolitan Council, a member of the Urban Safety and Construction Committee, and a member of the Special Budget and Accounts Committee.


Chairperson Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am pleased to be elected as the Chairperson of the Urban Planning Committee for the second half of the Seoul Metropolitan Council term. I thank the senior and fellow council members who supported me.”


He added, “I will implement urban planning policies that enhance Seoul’s appeal while improving the quality of life for its citizens.” He also stated, “Along with this, I will actively listen to the voices of citizens who experience inconveniences due to Seoul’s reconstruction, redevelopment, and zoning regulations, and work proactively to resolve these regulatory issues.”


He concluded, “We will promote a future-oriented urban plan for Seoul looking ahead 100 years and create an eco-friendly, attractive city balanced with ecology, history, and culture.”
