Icheon-si Secures 1.5 Billion KRW in Special Grants for the First Half of the Year

'Special Grants' are budgets allocated by the central government considering urgent local government projects or unexpected financial demands such as disasters. They are used as resources for local issues or disaster safety sectors.

The projects targeted by the secured special grants this time include ▲Expansion and paving of rural roads between Ipyeong and Maegok (1 billion KRW) ▲Replacement of the Jeyori movable weir (300 million KRW) ▲Expansion and establishment of an intelligent video analysis system (200 million KRW).

The expansion and paving work on rural road No. 208 between Ipyeong and Maegok involves widening and improving the alignment of the narrow and winding local road No. 208, scheduled for completion by June next year. The Jeyori movable weir replacement project involves replacing the fixed weir on a tributary of the Cheongmi Stream with a movable weir to respond to changes in river water levels, prevent safety accidents among residents, and support stable farming activities.

The intelligent video analysis system expansion project aims to strengthen resident safety by enabling real-time detection of abnormal signs to allow immediate response for the prevention of violent crimes.

Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, stated, "We will make great efforts to secure resources, including strengthening communication with central government departments, to promote projects that are essential to our citizens."
