Yeongdeok County conducted an on-site safety inspection on the 26th in response to the summer vacation season and the special water play measures period.
Deputy County Governor Moon Sungjun, along with the head of the Safety and Disaster Department, the head of Dalsan-myeon, and related staff, inspected safety facilities and encouraged water safety guards on duty.
In particular, Deputy Governor Moon emphasized, "After heavy rainfall, the water level in the valley rises significantly, increasing potential hazards in the water recreation areas. Please thoroughly assess these risks and ensure that visitors to Okgyegye Valley are not exposed to danger."
The county has designated a water safety management period until August 31 to prevent water-related accidents, and is deploying professional safety managers to each area to conduct safety patrols.
Additionally, life jackets are provided at all waiting stations within the water recreation management zones for visitors to borrow, supporting safe enjoyment of water activities.
During the water safety management period, Yeongdeok County will organize an emergency duty team to maintain a high level of safety management even on weekends, and plans to focus administrative efforts to ensure visitors can enjoy water activities with peace of mind.
