Content platform company RIDI announced on the 31st that three webtoons serialized on the global webtoon subscription service 'Manta' have been nominated for the US 'Ringo Awards.'
Started in 2017, the Ringo Awards is considered one of the three major comic awards in the US, alongside the 'Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards' and the 'Harvey Awards.'
The works nominated for the Ringo Awards this time are ▲ Best Webcomic category: 'Gobaekhagi 30bunjeon (Countdown to Love)' ▲ Best Humor Webcomic category: 'Mawangnim-eun Gongju-ro Wijang Jung (The Deviless’s Impression of a Princess)' and 'Seonsaengnim-eun 9se Iyongga (The Fantastical After-School Writing Club),' totaling three works.
All the nominated works were released through Manta last year and received favorable reviews from local webtoon fans. RIDI plans to introduce these nominated works to domestic fans through the RIDI platform as well.
This year’s Ringo Awards winners will be announced at Baltimore Comic-Con on September 21.
