Baemin Club Expands Free Delivery Restaurants
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok (Baemin), announced on the 31st that they will expand the support scope to allow restaurants using 'Store Delivery' to also participate in Baemin Club. Previously, free delivery orders through Baemin Club were only available to restaurants subscribed to 'Baemin Delivery.' Store Delivery is a service where the restaurant delivers food through its own delivery personnel, while Baemin Delivery is a service where Baemin riders deliver the food.
With this change, Baemin Club subscription customers can now receive free delivery benefits even for Store Delivery orders. Combining Baemin Delivery and Store Delivery, Baemin hosts a total of approximately 320,000 restaurants, the largest number among domestic delivery apps. It is expected that the number of restaurants participating in free delivery will also be relatively high. The free delivery benefit for Store Delivery will be applied starting September 11.
This change follows the service reform plan announced on the 10th. At that time, Baemin stated its intention to expand growth opportunities for Store Delivery restaurants through Baemin Club. Baemin Club stores have shown a growth effect with a 29% increase in order volume through Baemin Club customer orders.
A Woowa Brothers official said, “We plan to support delivery fees of 2,000 KRW per order for up to four months so that restaurant owners can experience Baemin Club without burden,” adding, “After the trial period, owners can cancel at any time according to their choice.”
