Dobong-gu Provides Public Facility Fee Discounts for Families with Two Children

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has decided to extend the public facility usage fee discount benefits, which were previously only available to families with three or more children, to families with two or more children.

The district announced that it has revised the ordinance on discounts for the use of public facilities such as public parking lots, sports facilities, and cultural facilities, and from this month, the discount benefits for public facility usage fees will be expanded from families with three or more children to families with two or more children.

A district official explained the purpose as "to alleviate the childcare burden on residents and to overcome the low birthrate issue."

The facilities where the criteria for multi-child families have been changed and discount benefits expanded include ▲ Dobong-dong Indoor Sports Center ▲ Ssangmun Comprehensive Sports Center ▲ 53 public parking lots ▲ District Office and Dobong-gu Community Center ▲ three Seoul-style kids cafes (Oreubong Naeribong, Bongbong Trekking, Supsok Yuraemseon Dduttu) ▲ Dobong-gu Childcare Support Center ▲ Dooly Museum ▲ Dobong Women's Center, totaling 63 locations.

The three Seoul-style kids cafes in Dobong-gu and the Dobong-gu Childcare Support Center can be used free of charge by families with two or more children, while public sports facilities such as Dobong-dong Indoor Sports Center, educational and cultural facilities such as Dooly Museum and Dobong-gu Community Center, and 53 public parking lots in the area offer a 50% discount benefit.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "We have prepared this multi-child family benefit to ease the burden on families with two or more children who face significant childcare challenges. We will continue to expand various economic benefits and cultural activities to promote family-friendly childcare and childbirth."
