Hidden Camera Perpetrator Filming Women at 'Psy Hmphbok Show' Was a Teenager

A teenage hidden camera offender who filmed parts of a woman's body at singer Psy's Hmph Show concert was caught by the police.

Yonhap News reported on the 30th that the Daejeon Seobu Police Station has arrested and is investigating a high school student, A (17), on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming using a camera).

Earlier, A is suspected of secretly filming women's bodies on the afternoon of the 28th inside a university campus in Doan-dong, Seo-gu, where the concert was held. Police who were managing safety at the scene apprehended A following a report from a citizen who witnessed the crime.

At the time, the police reportedly began a search after receiving a citizen's tip stating, "Someone is filming hidden camera videos with a cellphone at the concert venue. They attempted the crime at the crosswalk near the entrance and then ran inside." Shortly after, the police found A at the university entrance and voluntarily accompanied him to a nearby police station with officers.

According to the police investigation, A's crime occurred before the performance started at 6 p.m. Photos that appeared to secretly capture parts of female audience members' bodies were found on A's confiscated cellphone. The police plan to request digital forensics on the cellphone and investigate the detailed circumstances of the crime.

Meanwhile, local governments with large-scale performances such as Psy's Hmph Show are conducting safety inspections. Sokcho City in Gangwon Province announced that it has reviewed safety measures ahead of large-scale performances including the Hmph Show.
