There is a heated debate over the samgyeopsal sold at a restaurant in the Gyeongbuk region.
On the 28th, a post titled "Is 30,000 won for 2 servings of samgyeopsal reasonable?" was published on an online community. The author, Mr. A, visited a samgyeopsal restaurant while traveling with his mother in a certain area of Gyeongbuk. According to Mr. A, the restaurant sells one serving of samgyeopsal (150g) for 15,000 won.
Mr. A explained that after ordering two servings of samgyeopsal, he was taken aback by the amount of meat on the grill and only ate what was served without placing any additional orders. He also criticized, "(The restaurant) was even unfriendly. Their introduction was grandiose. They claimed to have appeared on some broadcast and labeled themselves as a safe restaurant."
Looking at the photo attached by Mr. A, six pieces of meat are placed on the grill. However, judging by the thickness and size of the samgyeopsal pieces, it cannot be definitively said that the amount is small.
Netizens also reacted to the photo with comments such as "300g for 2 servings seems impossible," and "30,000 won for 2 servings and this amount, I’m laughing." Others said, "Judging by the size and thickness of the pieces, 150g per serving is possible," and "Samgyeopsal is usually sold in one strip, but this place seems to divide it into three pieces for sale."
