Connectwave's overseas subsidiary Moltail's ShipGet announced on the 30th that it has further strengthened its B2B (business-to-business) purchasing agency sector by opening 1688.com, China's largest wholesale platform, on its ShipGet Dahejum service.
1688.com is Alibaba Group's representative B2B platform, primarily providing services for wholesale and bulk purchases. Among various shopping platforms in China, it is famous for its low prices and cost-effectiveness, making it the largest trading partner for domestic businesses sourcing and selling Chinese products. However, it has the drawback of being difficult to use without knowledge of Chinese.
In response, ShipGet opened 1688.com on its Dahejum service, which enables one-stop translation, easy purchasing, and delivery from Chinese shopping malls, establishing an infrastructure that allows even beginner entrepreneurs to purchase easily.
ShipGet plans to do its best to enhance sellers' competitiveness by supporting differentiated services such as product recommendations and customs clearance, in addition to facilitating smooth transactions between domestic sellers and Chinese wholesalers.
Also, considering the store characteristic that prices become cheaper as purchase quantities increase, ShipGet utilizes its self-operated Moltail China logistics center to provide logistics services for large-scale orders as well as for B2B businesses.
In particular, with the opening of 1688.com, ShipGet now services most of the major Chinese platforms popular among domestic sellers, laying the foundation for sales growth based on the expansion of its B2B purchasing agency business area.
The mobile-only app ShipGet offers services that allow users to purchase products from major Chinese open markets such as Taobao, Jingdong.com, and VVIC just like shopping on Korean malls, even without knowledge of Chinese. With a convenient purchasing environment, the number of users, including individual direct buyers and domestic sellers, has steadily increased, currently exceeding about 1 million.
A ShipGet representative said, “In the future, beyond purchasing agency services, we plan to provide global fulfillment services utilizing our own China logistics center,” adding, “Along with this, we will continuously develop and introduce diverse services that satisfy both individual users and sellers using ShipGet.”
