The woodblock prints showcased in the exhibition are works that reproduce cultural heritage and artworks from institutions such as the National Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the Kansong Art Museum using woodblock printing technology, and are being revealed to the public for the first time.

Woodblock printing technology is an advanced technique that composes images using lines and dots, and is a type of printing method used in currency manufacturing.

In Korea, only the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation can implement this technology, and the tactile rough texture felt by hand is considered an important anti-counterfeiting technology for distinguishing the authenticity of securities.

The main exhibits include woodblock print combined medals that incorporate banknotes, gift certificates, and medals.

The "artistic woodblock prints," which combine cultural heritage and artworks such as the Gilt-bronze Standing Buddha statue owned by the National Museum of Korea, Inwangjesaekdo (Clearing After Rain on Mt. Inwang), and the Beauty painting from the Kansong Art Museum, will also be unveiled to the public for the first time.

The artistic woodblock prints are planned to be sold later on the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation’s online store.

Sung Chang-hoon, president of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, said, "As the woodblock prints, which elevate the corporation’s currency manufacturing technology into artworks, are being revealed for the first time, we hope for much support and interest from the public."
