The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Jo Hee-yeon), in collaboration with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung-ryeol), announced that the 2nd Seoul Creative Arts Education Center will hold open days on August 2 and 9 to warmly open its doors to local residents, introducing the center’s programs and sharing the process of participating in artistic activities.
The 2nd Seoul Creative Arts Education Center will operate the ‘2024 Summer Vacation Creative Arts Classroom’ and ‘2024 Summer Vacation Arts Raknak’ from July 29 to August 13, with exhibitions and performances showcasing the results of these programs held on August 2 and 9. The center’s ‘Vacation Creative Arts Classroom’ program is a community-linked program that students and parents can apply for and participate in individually. In particular, the 2024 Summer Vacation Creative Arts Classroom offers students and parents from Seoul districts the opportunity for active participation and expansion of artistic activities for all participants.
At the 2024 Summer Vacation Creative Arts Classroom, visitors can see creative works by students who participated in classes on crafts, sculpture, upcycling, and ecology, themed around the future environment, through the ‘Come Play, Secret Forest’ exhibition held on August 2 and 9.
Additionally, the ‘Beauty of the Kingdom of Trash’ fusion performance, held at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM on August 9, will feature students who participated in the program performing a creative show that integrates theater, musicals, video, and music, meeting the audience.
Following this, the ‘Arts Raknak’ Korean traditional music classroom recital will take place at 4:00 PM on August 13, where participating students and parents will perform on stage. All exhibitions and performances will be held in the lobby and performance hall on the first floor of the 2nd Seoul Creative Arts Education Center located in Majang-dong, Seongdong-gu.

Superintendent Jo Hee-yeon of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education stated, “The experience of observing themes of artistic creation and linking them to activities through the 2024 Summer Vacation Creative Arts Classroom will be a great opportunity to expand creative expression and thinking for students.”
Meanwhile, the 2nd Seoul Creative Arts Education Center is developing and operating various arts education programs, supporting participants’ creative artistic activity experiences within schools and communities, and striving to connect and expand educational curricula. All programs operated by the center, including school-linked, community-linked, performances and exhibitions, and teacher professional development courses, are provided free of charge to students or parents residing in Seoul.
