Busan City Launches 'One-Stop Business Support Officer' Initiative... Full Commitment to Creating a Business-Friendly City

On-site Visit by One-stop Business Support Officer on the 30th

'Vice Mayor for Administration' No.2, Dedicated Officer 'Geumyang'

'Director of Digital Economy Office' No.3, Oriental Precision & Engineering

On the 30th, the Busan City Administrative Vice Mayor and the Director of the Digital Economy Office will each visit 'Geumyang' and 'Oriental Jeonggong' as the second and third One-Stop Corporate Support Officers, respectively.

This activity by the One-Stop Corporate Support Officers is part of the 'One-Stop Rapid Corporate Investment Support Plan' prepared by the city during the '44th Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting' held on the 27th of last month.

The city established this plan to support the swift realization of corporate investments (projects), aiming to drive innovative growth in the local economy.

On the 1st, Mayor Park personally served as the first One-Stop Corporate Support Officer, visiting 'Renault Korea Motors' to meet with company representatives, listen to challenges faced at industrial sites, and discuss ways to enhance the execution of corporate investments and projects.

Following Mayor Park's activities as the first officer, the city designated Vice Mayor Lee as the second and Director Shin as the third One-Stop Corporate Support Officers to further accelerate efforts to make Busan a business-friendly city.

On this day, Vice Mayor Lee will review the current status of Geumyang's major project to build a secondary battery production plant, meet with company representatives to listen to on-site challenges, and discuss ways to enhance the execution of key projects.

Geumyang is constructing a secondary battery production plant in the E-PARK industrial complex in Gijang-gun to produce its main battery for electric vehicles, the 'Cylindrical 4695.' Equipment installation will begin in December, with pilot production of the 'Cylindrical 4695' scheduled for August next year.

To address challenges faced by Geumyang, such as the supply of industrial water and securing power demand for the secondary battery plant, the city plans to prepare optimal solutions through a supply plan study for industrial water and provide full support, including requesting cooperation from the Korea Electric Power Corporation headquarters to secure power.

Director Shin will visit Oriental Jeonggong to discuss the rapid implementation plan and support measures for the investment memorandum of understanding regarding the construction of a research and development (R&D) campus, which was signed between the city and Oriental Jeonggong on the 29th.

Oriental Jeonggong plans to become the first domestic shipbuilding equipment company to establish its own R&D campus, focusing on new product development and performance improvement of core products, and proactively responding to orders for eco-friendly ships.

As this is expected to secure sustainable competitiveness for Busan's core shipbuilding industry and prevent the outflow of local talent by creating quality jobs, the city will support administrative procedures for the rapid execution of the investment plan.

Additionally, the city will introduce various ongoing policies aimed at making Busan a business-friendly city, such as enacting the 'Ordinance on Fostering and Supporting the Secondary Battery Industry' and operating a 'Joint Supply Platform for Shipbuilding Equipment Companies.'

Since launching the dedicated One-Stop Corporate Support Team on July 1, the city has been pursuing four major strategies and 15 key tasks to make Busan a business-friendly city: ▲Establishing a one-stop corporate support system ▲Removing obstacles for large-scale investment sites ▲Strengthening field-oriented regulatory innovation ▲Enhancing capabilities for corporate investment support.

In particular, the city is building an integrated support system based on cooperation to systematically support not only the attraction of companies but also post-management such as early settlement and resolving difficulties for attracted companies, as well as providing technical expertise during the administrative procedures that follow investment attraction.

Administrative Vice Mayor Lee Joonseung said, "We plan to strengthen on-site one-stop corporate support to create a business-friendly investment environment and establish a virtuous cycle where corporate investment is revitalized through prompt support for large-scale investments and encouragement of reinvestment," adding, "We will do our best to enhance citizens' sense of economic vitality by innovating the local economic structure."
