Executives Visit SK Seorin Building
China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Group) is accelerating cooperation with SK Group in the electric vehicle and battery sectors.
According to industry sources on the 29th, Geely Automobile's executives in charge of technology, research and development (R&D), and overseas cooperation visited SK Seorin Building in Jongno, Seoul, in the afternoon. It is also reported that the top executives of Zeekr, Geely Automobile's premium electric vehicle brand, accompanied them. On the SK Group side, Choi Jae-won, Senior Vice Chairman of SK Group, and Lee Seok-hee, CEO of SK On, welcomed them.
Geely Group oversees more than 10 global brands, including China's Geely Automobile, Sweden's Volvo and Polestar, and the UK's Lotus. As of the first quarter, it ranks 10th in global vehicle sales. Its annual vehicle sales reach 2.79 million units.
On the 11th of last month, SK Group and Geely Group signed a 'Strategic Business Cooperation Agreement' focused on strengthening collaboration in eco-friendly mobility sectors such as electric vehicle batteries and automotive electronic components. On the 20th of this month, Geely Automobile executives also visited SK On's Seosan plant. This meeting is interpreted as a continuation of efforts to expand cooperation in the eco-friendly mobility field.
