KakaoPay Provides Real-Time Citizen Safety Insurance Information

Collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, 'Dongne Free Insurance' Service Revamp

Kakao Pay announced on the 29th that it has revamped the 'Neighborhood Free Insurance' service in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and will provide real-time information on Citizen Safety Insurance.

Citizen Safety Insurance was established to ensure the stability and welfare of citizens affected by various disasters and accidents that may occur in daily life. It is an insurance policy subscribed to by local governments, and anyone residing in the respective area is automatically enrolled.

Kakao Pay explained that through the service revamp, it has integrated with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety via API (Application Programming Interface) to provide real-time information on Citizen Safety Insurance. Additionally, the coverage details and claim procedures have been redesigned for easier user understanding, and users can also check the claim center phone number and local government website, enhancing convenience.

When the 'Neighborhood Free Insurance' service is launched, 'My Neighborhood Free Insurance' automatically appears based on the user's residential area. By clicking 'See More,' users can view detailed Citizen Safety Insurance subscription information. Users can understand the coverage details and maximum coverage amount, and through the 'Claim Method' tab, they can check how to claim insurance benefits and the required documents. If there are any inquiries, users can connect by phone to the claim office.

Users can also check subscription and coverage details for areas other than their residence, allowing them to understand differences in coverage items and amounts by region. At the bottom of the 'Coverage Details' section, a 'Glossary' is provided to help understand difficult terms.

Although Citizen Safety Insurance offers free insurance benefits to all citizens, awareness remains relatively low. According to a poll conducted by 'Payroun News,' which provides lifestyle-oriented content, more than half of Kakao Pay users are unaware of the existence of 'Citizen Safety Insurance.' In a poll titled 'Are you aware of the free insurance provided in your area?' held from the 17th to the 21st with 46,831 participants, 26,301 users, accounting for 56%, responded that they did not know about it.
