On that day, about 70 current and former basic council members, metropolitan council members, and local activists attended to report and evaluate the activities of the past year and discuss the direction for the second term.

Yoo Seong-su, a former Jeonnam Provincial Council member who served as the chair of the Education Committee, was appointed as the chair of the Jeonnam Innovation Council Preparatory Committee, and a total of 25 members, one to two from each city and county, joined as preparatory committee members.

The Preparatory Committee will operate until the end of August to prepare for the official formation of the Jeonnam Innovation Council leadership.

As the first agenda item after his appointment, Chair Yoo proposed the “Support Activities for Candidate Kang, Chair of the Gwangju City Party,” and approved specific support measures such as finding affiliates.

The second agenda item was the adoption of the “2024 Deominju Jeonnam Innovation Council Preparatory Committee Declaration,” resolving to work on the three major tasks of party innovation, political reform, and regime change.

Chair Yoo stated, “Although this is a temporary system preparing for the official organization launch, we will actively carry out organizational activities in all 22 cities and counties of Jeonnam,” adding, “We will serve as a catalyst for party innovation, political reform, and regime change starting from Honam.”
