The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is conducting a competency enhancement training course for 100 elementary school teachers to ensure effective survival swimming education.


The Office of Education announced on the 28th that from the 29th of this month to the 2nd of next month, a 15-hour practical training course for teachers will be held at the Gyeonggi Marine Safety Experience Center and Yeoju Water Sports Center.


This training will focus on developing practical survival swimming teaching skills according to the standard survival swimming curriculum, including ▲underwater survival ▲rescue techniques ▲survival swimming instruction methods ▲comprehensive rescue practice.


Student survival swimming is a mandatory practical education for 3rd and 4th-grade elementary students to enable them to secure their own safety in underwater hazards.


Kim Sang-yong, Director of the Physical Education and Health Division at the Office of Education, stated, "Teachers will systematically experience practical survival swimming education, which will provide substantial support for stable educational activities for students," and added, "We will prepare practical training courses so that more teachers can receive survival swimming education."
