Gyeongbuk Province and the Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Organization (President Kim Namil) announced on the 28th that they hosted a familiarization tour (FAM tour) for the development of tourism products in the Gyeongsang region (Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Busan) by inviting five travel agencies from Chengdu, China, as well as influencers.
This FAM tour was conducted over six days from the 23rd to the 28th with the cooperation of Daegu City, Busan City, and the Korea Tourism Organization. On the 25th, representatives from Chengdu’s travel industry visited Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, Hwangnidan-gil, and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond in Gyeongju. On the second day, the 26th, they visited the Pohang National Lighthouse Museum, Guryongpo Gwamegi Culture Center, Yeongildae, Homigot, and Space Walk.
Twenty travel industry officials from Chengdu, China, participating in the Yeongnam region fam tour are taking a commemorative photo.
This FAM tour focused on marine tourism content, which is rarely accessible to people living in inland China. A total of 20 participants, including staff from major travel agencies in Chengdu, journalists from broadcasting companies, and influencers, experienced the attractions of Korea’s East Coast.
Gyeongbuk Province and the Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Organization expect that this joint Gyeongsang region FAM tour will help disperse tourists who are concentrated in the metropolitan area to the Gyeongsang region and further contribute to revitalizing the local tourism economy.
Kim Namil, President of the Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Organization, said, "Through this FAM tour, we hope to promote Gyeongbuk’s marine and traditional cultural tourism resources to inland regions of China and develop new tourism products. We will continue to work to vitalize the local tourism industry through cooperation in tourism within the Gyeongsang region."
