Busan City, together with the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, has selected 100 companies for the 2024 “Cheongkkeul” (companies attracting youth) program.

Busan City Selects 100 Companies as 'Busan Cheongkkeul Enterprises of the Year' 2024 Busan Small and Medium Business Selection Event.

▲16 companies were selected for attractive “salary” ▲21 for attractive “welfare” ▲24 for attractive “work-life balance” ▲39 for attractive “future potential,” totaling 100 companies as the final Cheongkkeul companies.

The selection process consisted of three stages: ▲quantitative evaluation including wage levels, employment stability, and company size ▲on-site evaluation by a youth evaluation team (35 teams) who visited companies and conducted interviews ▲qualitative evaluation of work-life balance and organizational culture.

This selection of “Cheongkkeul companies” is part of the “Busan Cheongkkeul (Companies Attracting Youth) Discovery and Matching Support Project,” which aims to improve youth perceptions of local companies, expand the influx of young talent, and alleviate the mismatch between companies and youth in the job market.

The city will provide the selected companies with ▲a dedicated Cheongkkeul Manager ▲promotional marketing ▲customized consulting for growth acceleration and competitiveness enhancement.

To facilitate matching and mutual feedback between companies and youth, the “Cheongkkeul Manager” system will be introduced, with each manager in charge of supporting 20 Cheongkkeul companies.

Additionally, the city plans to further enhance the Cheongkkeul company information section on the youth job platform “Cheongnyeon Busan Jobs,” providing information such as average starting salary, annual salary, company size, annual sales, work-life balance, and recruitment plans.

Furthermore, an award ceremony for the newly selected Cheongkkeul companies was held at 2 p.m. on the 26th at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center.

About 110 people, including Cheongkkeul company representatives and stakeholders, attended the event.

Certificates were awarded to the 100 selected companies, and there were briefings on Ministry of Employment and Labor-linked projects, as well as special lectures on understanding MZ generation trends and recruitment strategies.

In September, the city plans to select three outstanding youth employment companies among the 100 Cheongkkeul companies and provide various incentives, including ▲40 million KRW in workplace environment improvement support ▲exemption from acquisition tax for newly acquired business real estate ▲designation as an excellent company (or individual) in the Busan region ▲reduction of credit guarantee fees.

The “Busan Cheongkkeul Company Introduction DREAM,” held at BEXCO last June, received a great response from local youth. Over 320 young people participated in the Cheongkkeul company promotion booth, which featured 20 companies including Kyungseong Industry, Daedong Hospital, Samdeok Trading, and Sunbo Industries, and it was highly praised for helping change perceptions of local companies.

Kim Guiok, Director of the City’s Youth-Industry Cooperation Bureau, said, “We thank local companies for playing a significant role in creating youth jobs and expanding employment opportunities despite the difficult economic situation. The city will continue to actively discover and support local companies preferred by youth, do our utmost to resolve mismatches between companies and youth, and create more quality jobs in Busan.”
