The public delivery app ‘Meokkebi’ in Jeonnam, which celebrated its 2nd anniversary this year, has surpassed a cumulative sales amount of 20 billion KRW.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 26th, ‘Meokkebi’, launched in July 2022, has achieved a cumulative 850,000 orders and cumulative sales of 20.9 billion KRW as of mid-July.
Considering that the cumulative sales amount was 5 billion KRW as of early April last year, the 10th month after its launch, it means that more than triple the additional sales were achieved in 15 months.
This achievement appears to be largely due to Jeonnam Province’s campaign encouraging ethical consumption, various discount events, and Meokkebi’s cooperative brokerage fee of 1.5%.
Using the public delivery app Meokkebi results in a commission saving of about 3,700 KRW or more per order compared to private delivery apps. Also, while private delivery apps incur additional costs for advertising and higher exposure, Meokkebi offers free advertising and higher exposure costs.
Moreover, Jeonnam’s public delivery app Meokkebi runs various discount events for consumers.
These include the ‘First Order Discount Event’, which offers a 5,000 KRW discount on the first order after new registration; the ‘Double Discount Event’, where consumers can receive up to an additional 4,000 KRW discount proportional to the discount amount set by the affiliated store; and the ‘5% Payback Event’ when paying with local love gift certificates.
In addition, to revitalize the local economy weakened by high prices and high interest rates, the ‘Livelihood Economy Recovery Discount Event’ is also being promoted, providing 5,000 KRW discount coupons up to four times per person each month, which has been well received by consumers.
