Gyeongbok University has partnered with Namyangju City to promote the 'Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE)' project, which will be fully implemented next year.

On the 23rd, Gyeongbok University held a meeting with Namyangju City Hall and announced on the 26th that the two institutions have agreed to carry out various activities to create positive synergy and development for the RISE project.

At the meeting, Gyeongbok University explained the overview of the RISE project, the progress made so far, and future plans.

Ham Do-hoon, the chief officer of Gyeongbok University, stated, "Close cooperation between Namyangju City and Gyeongbok University is essential for proactive participation in the RISE project. We will continuously monitor the directions of the Ministry of Education and Gyeonggi Province to respond more proactively, thoroughly reviewing the project from the planning stage and striving to build an innovative ecosystem for regional development."

Meanwhile, the RISE project introduced by the Ministry of Education is a program to overcome the crisis of regional university extinction caused by the declining school-age population by delegating administrative and financial authority for university support to metropolitan local governments, promoting regional development, and will be implemented from 2025.
