Mercury, a specialized information and communication equipment company, is introducing a 'kitchen automatic fire extinguishing system' combined with the Internet of Things (IoT).
Mercury announced on the 26th that it will participate in 'The Lifestyle Expo 2024,' held at SETEC in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, until the 27th.
At this expo, Mercury will exhibit and promote IoT solutions specialized for smart senior centers, including smart safety management and smart convenience energy management.
In particular, it will focus on showcasing fire safety solutions. This solution quickly detects fires in small spaces, rapidly extinguishes them, and provides various functions such as fire evacuation alerts and gas shutoff by linking with kiosks.
A Mercury official stated, "We plan to contribute to creating a safer smart senior center environment by applying the IoT-linked home kitchen automatic fire extinguishing system to the smart senior center standards prepared by the Korea Senior Citizens Association last year."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) have been conducting the 'Smart Senior Center Construction Project' since 2021. By the end of last year, 889 smart senior centers were established in 13 local governments, and with an expanded budget this year, the goal is to create 1,391 smart senior centers in 27 local governments.
