On the 24th (local time), British broadcaster BBC reported, "Celine Dion met and greeted fans in Paris the day before," fueling rumors that she will make a comeback performance at the Olympic opening ceremony. U.S. entertainment media Variety also reported, "There is speculation that Dion will take the stage at the opening ceremony on the 26th," adding, "Dion arrived at the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-?lys?es in Paris on the 22nd." On X (formerly Twitter), there were eyewitness accounts of Dion chatting with fans welcoming her in Paris and signing autographs for them. Additionally, Dion posted a photo taken at the Louvre Museum in Paris on her X account. Known as the "world's greatest diva," Dion also performed at the opening ceremony of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the United States.

Not only Dion, but Lady Gaga is also rumored to be performing at the opening ceremony. Videos posted on social media show Gaga waving to fans welcoming her while seated in a car on a street in Paris. In particular, photos of Gaga rehearsing on a floating platform on the Seine River, where the opening ceremony will be held, have been shared on social media, strengthening the speculation of her attendance.

However, the list of performers for the opening ceremony is kept confidential, so it is difficult to confirm whether Gaga or Dion will appear on stage. As rumors spread, when President Emmanuel Macron was asked about Dion's participation in an interview, he replied, "Dion is an incredible artist, and if he can attend the opening ceremony, it would be truly delightful." For the first time in history, the 2024 Paris Olympic opening ceremony, held outside the stadium, is expected to feature 3,500 actors, dancers, musicians, and others.

Meanwhile, Dion publicly revealed in December 2022 that she suffers from a rare neurological disease called Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS). This rare disease affects only about 8,000 patients worldwide and is known to cause muscle stiffness, making the body rigid, and triggering convulsions in response to sound, touch, or emotional stimuli. However, she emphasized her desire to return to the stage, saying, "If I can't walk, I will crawl to get there."
