"Expecting Creation of 700 Jobs and Revitalization of Local Economy"
Asung Daiso, a fixed-price household goods store, announced on the 25th that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Sejong Hub Center, which will serve as a logistics base for southern Gyeonggi and the Chungcheong region.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place in the afternoon at the Smart Green Industrial Complex in Sojeong-myeon, Sejong City, attended by Park Jeong-bu, chairman of Asung Daiso, and Lee Seung-won, vice mayor of Sejong City for economic affairs. At the event, Vice Mayor Lee delivered a welcoming speech, stating, "Asung Daiso will reach a turning point for further growth through the Sejong Hub Center."
This center is a logistics facility that will stably supply products to over 800 stores in southern Gyeonggi and the Chungcheong region. Daiso plans to invest 400 billion KRW with a goal of completion in January 2027. Upon completion, the center is expected to create about 700 jobs, develop partner companies in the Chungcheong area, increase tax revenue, and contribute to revitalizing the local economy, according to Daiso.
Daiso also plans to build a separate Sejong Online Center for Daiso Mall (e-commerce) next to the Sejong Hub Center. The Sejong Hub Center has a site area of 66,590㎡ (20,143 pyeong) and a total floor area of 165,320㎡ (50,059 pyeong), while the Sejong Online Center has a site area of 33,058㎡ (10,000 pyeong). The two logistics centers will be connected via an overbridge.
Until now, Daiso’s Namsa Hub Center, opened in December 2012, has covered Seoul, northern Gyeonggi, and Gangwon regions, while the Busan Hub Center, opened in September 2019, has handled Jeolla and Gyeongsang regions. The Anseong Center, operational since April last year, has managed logistics for Daiso Mall in southern Gyeonggi and the Chungcheong region.

With the completion of the Sejong Hub Center, it will handle logistics for the Chungcheong region and southern Gyeonggi, while the existing Namsa Hub Center will cover the central and northern metropolitan areas and Gangwon region. The Busan Hub Center will be responsible solely for logistics in the Yeongnam and Honam areas. Daiso explained, "The current logistics centers have a capacity (CAPA) of 700,000 orders per day, and with the Sejong Hub Center processing 300,000 orders, we will secure a stable logistics capacity."
Park Jeong-bu, chairman of Asung Daiso, said, "We are breaking ground on the Sejong Hub Center, the third heart of Daiso, to secure future growth engines and ensure stable product supply to Daiso stores and Daiso Mall." He added, "I am confident that the Sejong Hub Center will contribute not only to Daiso’s future growth but also to regional economic development, job creation, and win-win cooperation."
