The Only Specialized Graduate School for Materials and Components in Korea Draws Attention
Lectures by Current and Former Executives of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it successfully completed the first course of the 'Semiconductor Advanced Program,' jointly operated with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), and held a completion ceremony on the 24th.

The completion ceremony was attended by the first batch of students, Kim Seong-yeop, Dean of the College of Engineering at UNIST, and officials from Yongin City.
The 'Semiconductor Advanced Program' is the first specialized graduate school in Korea focusing on materials and components, launched to enhance expertise and strengthen industry-academia-research networks in response to changes in the semiconductor industry. Notably, UNIST faculty members and current and former executives from semiconductor anchor companies Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix participated as instructors, delivering high-quality lectures that attracted attention.
Yongin City and UNIST are recruiting the second batch of students until August 22. The second course will run from September 5 to November 28 and will be held every Thursday in the 'Semiconductor Education and Industry-Academia Hub' lecture room set up at Yongin City Hall.
An official from the city stated, "We will strive to strengthen the competitiveness of the semiconductor industry through the advanced program, befitting Yongin City's status as the site of the world's largest semiconductor cluster in a single city."
